About Kylie:
Kylie is a PhD student at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego. She studies how icebergs impact the way water moves in fjords, acting like floating barriers and creating changes in water flow. Kylie is also interested in how water from melting glaciers leaves fjords and mixes into the larger ocean, affecting global currents.
Using observations from a fjord in Greenland and computer models, Kylie’s research helps us understand the important role icebergs and glaciers play in the ocean.
